Early Mother's Day Present!

Jason & I were standing in the kitchen last Sunday, when I casually mentioned that it would be nice to have an island. He went right to work, and built this beautiful island in less than a week! He used cabinets that we got from his grandma's old house. We sanded & painted them, and they looked like new! We got the counter top for a whopping $60, and found some bar stools on clearance at Kmart. The grand total of the project was about $120! Not too shabby to tranform my kitchen!!!
Kayson loved helping daddy! Sometimes he helped TOO MUCH!

Team Muscle!!!

For those of you who don't know, I entered Jason in a contest with Fox 13 called "Lighten Up With Big Budha". He was chosen as one of 5 contestants to see who can lose the most weight in 60 days. He has been given a 6 month membership to Golds Gym, 60 free meals at Sizzler, and a personal trainer for 60 days. His trainer is great, and has him on a "Body Builder" program. He is really filling him up with protein, and working muscles Jason never knew he had! They have live weigh in's every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. on Fox 13. So far he has lost 20 pounds, and has 4 more weeks left! If he loses the highest percentage of body mass, he will win an all expense paid trip for 2 to San Diego!

"The Best Park Ever"

Sawyer loves to go to the West Jordan City Park. He claims it is "The Best Park Ever!" While we had Constence for Spring Break, we took the kids over for a picnic, and to play! As you can see....all 4 of my kids had a great time!

The Ponies

It's time again to get the horses out & ready for parade season! This year we are going to try to have all three of them pull the wagon! Bradley is going to be doing all the work this year, since Mel is pregnant. He is super excited to drive the team...and is actually quite good at it.  Our first parade is June 19th....so hopefully we will be ready!

Duke*Major*Majesty

After we finished working the horses, we tied them up in the barn to take off their harnesses, and brush them
down. While I was brushing Majesty, she spooked, broke her lead rope, and stepped exactly on my right foot! That is A LOT of weight! My foot was seriously black & blue, and swollen. I'm stubborn though, and decided against going to the hospital for x-rays.  It hurt to drive home, and I limped around for a couple of weeks...but I think it's getting better!

We're Goin' To The Zoo!

The boys & I enjoyed a fabulous day at the zoo today! It was the perfect day for it....great weather, not too many people, and the animals were out & active! Sawyer had his heart set on seeing the lions, but was content to see the tiger & 3 cubs instead. Kayson was in awe of every animal he saw, but was really excited about the giraffes, and the new baby elephant. We had a ton of fun, and wrapped the day up with a ride on the carousel, and the train!

"I want an official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle! "

Apparently it is just me....but I think that 5 is a little young for a bee-bee gun. After laying down all the ground rules, Jason & Sawyer went out in the backyard to shoot his gun. I took him only a few tries before he was knocking the plastic cups off the stumps. Fortunatley, he did get saftey goggles- At least I know that he won't "shoot his eye out!"

HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY SAWYER!

With Sawyer's Birthday being on Halloween, it gets a little hectic around here! We decided to celebrate with a small family party on Sunday-but we still had a little party for him with just the 5 of us, complete with presents and jack-o-lantern pizza! He was excited to get a remote control Mustang from dad, and a brand new Razor Scooter!

At the family party we had cake & ice cream, and home-made rootbeer! (a tradition for Sawyer's Birthday!) Sawyer was showered with lots of gifts, but I think his favorite is a Red Ryder Bee-Bee Gun. He also got lots of books, a 4-wheeling helmet, and a sled!

Anybody else in the family notice how dad always has something strange on his head at our kids parties?

Kayson-Making a MESS!

It's hard for me to believe my little guy is already 5! It seems like just yesterday that Jason & I were racing to the hospital 3 1/2 weeks before my due date to have my little Halloween baby! He is the kid that can make you want to say every 4 letter word in the book one minute, and then turn around and say something so adorable that you just can't hug & kiss him enough! Happy Birthday Sawyer! We love you!
